Ephesus

General Information about Ephesus

The ancient historical city of Ephesus which is thought to have been first inhabited around 6,000 B.C. The ruins of Ephesus is one of Turkey's most visited historical sites and is closely neighboured by Selcuk and Soke.

There are many interesting sites to see while you are visiting Ephesus but the most well known is the Temple of Artemis. Listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World the Temple of Artemis dates back to approximately 550 B.C.

Another well known attraction of Ephesus is the Celsus Library. The Celsus Library dates back to 135 A.D and was originally home to as many as 12,000 scrolls. Getting to Ephesus is simple and because of its close proximity to Selcuk many people choose to walk here.
