General Information about Cappadocia

Cappadocia which is best known for being the home of the Goreme National Park can be found within Turkey's region of Central Anatolia. There are two main cities within this region which are Uchisar and Goreme. It is the city of Goreme that is Cappadocia's most well known destination.

It is here that you will will be able to view some of the world's most fascinating rock formations. Listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO the Goreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia has a strange resemblance moon craters. The rock formations here are well known as Fairy Chimney Rocks. There is no airport located within Cappadocia however there are regular buses arriving from Istanbul.
