General Information about Granada

Set near the Sierra Nevada mountains Granada near the Beiro, Darro, and Genil rivers at an elevation of 738 metres. Granada is home to over 472,700 people and is a city filled with culture. Granada features many beautiful historical monuments of Moorish and Catholic style architecture.

The Granada Cathedral is one of real beauty with its 15th century columns and is greatly influenced by the Spanish Renaissance. This remarkable building was built over 181 years and is definitely worth visiting. Granada is home to many churches such as the Santo Domingo Church and the Santa Ana Church. Be sure to visit the La Alhambra which an medieval complex that was originally a palace and fortress. La Alhambra would have to be the most visited destination for tourists so if you would like to visit this complex its best to book in advance.

Getting to Granada is easy with regular flights arriving just half an hour out of the city. There are also regular buses running from Seville.
