General Information about Yaroslavl

You will find the city of Yaroslavl at the junction of the Volga river and the Kotorosl river within the region of Yaroslavl Oblast. Yaroslavl is located near Uglich with Moscow being located at a distance of more than two hundred kilometres.

The city is thought to have been inhabited since 1071 and is home to a population of more than 633,000 residents. Visiting the Yaroslavl historical city centre is a must as this area is listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Some of Yaroslavl's main attractions are the St John the Baptist Church and Spaso-Preobrazhensky which is the city's oldest building, dating back to 1506.
