Explore the fascinating capital of Romania and discover the main places of interest in Bucharest. This tour offers a real insight into the Jewish history and culture of the country and includes visits to the Choral Temple and Museum of Jewish Community.

Bucharest the capital of Romania, is an important Jewish center since 17th century and at the beginning of the 20th century the Jewish population in Bucharest numbered 40,000 people (sephardic and ashkenaz rite) with 70 temples and synagogues. From this great number only 7 survived the brutality of history from fascism and communism and only 3 of them are still serving the existing Jewish community of Bucharest.

During the Jewish Heritage tour, you will visit the Great Synagogue built in 1845 by the community of Jews originally from Poland, an architectural monument as listed by Romanian Academy with Baroque and Rococo influence in decorations, and one of the largest synagogues in Romania. Visit the Holly Union Temple built between 1837-1850 by the Tailor's Guild now housing the Museum of Jewish History in Romania; and the Choral Temple built in 1866, the largest active synagogue in Bucharest.
