Today Bryggen is listed as a World Cultural Heritage site by the UNESCO and is one of the city's most visited destinations. Another well visited destination worth visiting one of Bergen's surrounding mountains known as Floyen. If you are fit you can choose to climb to the mountains viewing deck otherwise you could take the cable car which is known locally as a funicular.
Also worth visiting is the Bergenhus Fortress which was first constructed back in the 12th century. Your trip to Bergen would not be complete without exploring through this historical fortress as it is in fact one of Norway's oldest fortresses.
Bergen is well connected with the rest of Europe and Norway with regular flights landing at the Bergen Airport Flesland. It is also possible to travel to Bergen via rail with regular trains arriving from Oslo. The city is also well connected with its surrounding islands.
