Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and occupies the North Eastern part of the island of Ireland. It has a population of 1.7 million and its largest city Belfast is its capital. Northern Ireland has a temperate maritime climate with unpredictable weather for most of the year with much of the country covered in grassland.

Northern Island has many fine examples of castles some dating back to the Norman times and with its many museums there is plenty of history to view. Nature lovers are well catered for too with many nature reserves, forests and wildlife to see during the many walking trails.
