We are lovers of travel who have been welcoming our intenational friends to our beloved city for over adecade.

Our visitors preferred not to stay in Hotels in Derry because they are too expensive and very meanly charge to use wireless internet.

Our international guests enjoyed our nearby backpacker hostel for price and fun but they didnt really want to sleep in bunk beds in dorm rooms.

This is why we invested in a completely renovation and modernisation of this fine family home in 2005 and opened our Walled City Townhouse to the travelling public

ps. our Townhouse has a very calm, relaxed, non-party environment. We will give you a key for the Front-Door of Youth Hostel, 200metres down the street, should you wish to play pool, view movies/sports, chill-out in the Beer-Garden. You are welcome to hang-out in our Hostel too, enjoy its facilities also, then retreat to the calm of our Townhouse for a peaceful nights sleep.

We are a Bed&Breakfast minus the greasy 'Full Irish' -'Ulster Fry'-'heart-attack-on-a-plate' breakfasts that those of us who live in Ireland, actually never eat on a daily basis.
Instead we offer a FREE Healthy breakfast consisting of Toast, Cereals & Tea/Coffee.
This is why we are £10-£15 cheaper than the typical B&B. It makes sense.
note: Should you really be craving hot bacon, eggs & sausages - you can purchase it yourselves down the street in the local cafe's for a few £'s, thus supporting the livelihoods of our local community cafes.


*** FREE WALKING TOUR***
We offer our guests the chance to join the famous walking tours of Historic Derry several times per week, there are tours daily during Summer season and a minimum of 2 per week to chose from during the Winter, please enquire from our staff upon check-in.

Our gorgeous building, which we are very proud of, is situated in the centre of our historic city of Derry, this Georgian Townhouse (built 1832) has been recently modernised and renovated to a very high standard and is very presentable.

Location / Directions

We are at 8 Asylum Road, the nice old street which joins Northland Road and Strand Road, 5 minutes walk from the ancient city walls.

Strand Road runs parallel to the river Foyle, we are located beside the large police (PSNI) Station and the 'Job centre', further up the street towards Northland Road.

IF YOU'RE COMING FROM THE TOURIST OFFICE:
Face the river foyle and turn left, keep the river on your right at the round-about take the 2nd exit onto the Strand road. Go beyond the traffic lights and take the second left just after the Clarendon bar and immediately before the Police Station.

COMING FROM THE BUS STATION ON FOOT:
Exit the bus-station onto Foyle Street. Turn right. Walk past the Guildhall - our City Hall - a large red brick building with a clock-tower that resembles a Cathedral.
Continue past the Guildhall, across Waterloo Place and onto the Strand Road. We are the 5th left turn just after the Clarendon bar and immediately before the Police Station.

Before you reach our Townhouse call into 'Paddys Palace Tourist Hostel' (which we also run) to collect your keys to the Townhouse.

CHECK-IN: Check-in is at Paddys Palace Youth Hostel (a brightly coloured yellow & green building on the junction of Asylum Road & Princes Street) on the same street at 1 WOODLEIGH TERRACE.

There is ample public car parking nearby

Private secure parking can be arranged.

We have secure indoor parking for bicycles and motorbikes
