Vaduz

General Information about Vaduz

Liechtenstein's capital city of Vaduz is not the largest city in the country but is home to over 5,000 people as the home of the royal family. Built along the Rhine river which is the longest and most important river in Europe and has been inhabited since the 13th century.

Found in Vaduz is the Vaduz Castle which is situated on a hilltop that overlooks the city, unfortunately trips to this castle is not permitted by tourists. Despite this the Vaduz Castle is one of the city's outstanding landmarks.

Vaduz features a fascinating collection of artwork in its National Art Gallery as well as many interesting exhibitions in the Liechtenstein National Museum. If you would prefer to view some of the Prince's Wine Collection, visitors are welcome to visit the city's popular vineyard which is situated on the Northern edge of the city.

Vaduz does not have an airport or railway station so the best way of travelling to Vaduz is via bus. Catching a bus to Vaduz is not hard with buses meeting most railway stations.

Vaduz is a popular tourist destination and is a lively city with friendly locals who will make you feel at home for your entire trip.
