General Information about Perugia

You will find the city of Perugia within central Italy, approximately 183 kilometres away from Rome. Closely situated near the Tiber river, the city of Perugia is the capital of the Umbria region and is famous for its annual jazz festival. Officially known as the Umbria Jazz Festival, this annual event takes place each July and is definitely one of the best times to visit this historical city.

Another reason to visit Perugia is for its ever popular Chocolate Festival which takes place each October. Perugia is home to many historical sights that should not be missed in particular the Palazzo dei Priori and the Perugia Cathedral. Travelling to Perugia is simple and travelling via rail is the best option with regular trains arriving from Rome, however it is also possible to reach Perugia via car or bus.
