General Information about Nuuk

Greenland's capital city of Nuuk can be found near the Nuup Kangerlua inlet just off the west coast of Greenland. Also known by it's name in Dutch of Godthab which means Good Hope Nuuk is home to over 15,000 people and has been inhabited since 1728. The best way to get to Nuuk is via plane with airport being conveniently located at Nuuk.

There are some amazing things that you can do while you are at Nuuk ranging from helicopter rides over the city's mountaintops to going on some wildlife safari's. While you are on these tours you may be lucky enough to see some humpback whales and minke whales. If your a fan of hiking then the Little Marlene mountain should not be forgotten about.

Nuuk also features a National Museum that is definitely worth visiting which can be found at the Old Colonial Town on the east coast if Nuuk. Not far from here you will be able to visit Santa Clause's post office and mailbox.
