General Information about Rothenburg
 Rothenburg which is officially known as Rothenburg ob der Tauber can be found within the state of Bavaria in south east Germany. Rothenburg also belongs to the region of Franconia and is approximately 213 kilometres away from Berlin and more than five hours away from Munich which is the capital of Bavaria. The city of Rothenburg has been inhabited since the Middle Ages but the city was not founded until approximately 1170.
There are many interesting historical buildings worth exploring through while you are visiting Rothenburg such as the Jakobs Church also known as Saint Jakobskirche. Rothenburg town walls and towers which date back to the 13th century, are also a popular tourist attraction. Your visit to Rothenburg would not be complete without spending some time exploring through the city's town square which is know locally as Ratstrinkstube. You can either choose to travel to Rothenburg ob der Tauber by train or bus.
