General Information about Passau
 Passau which is ideally located along the Danube and Inn rivers within the state of Bavaria. The town has been inhabited since Roman times and is home to many charming historical buildings. Closely neighboured by Nuremburg at a distance of 83 kilometres with the closest major city being Munich at a distance of approximately 190 kilometres. Passau is home to a population of more than fifty thousand residents with a percentage of this resulting form the University of Passau.
While visiting Passau be sure to visit the towns impressive cathedral which is known as St Stephan's Cathedral. Featuring architecture of Baroque influences, the cathedral features eight large bells which are situated within the cathedrals towers. The bells vary in size with the largest weighing a extraordinary 7550 kilograms and is known as the Pummerin. The best way of travelling to Passau is via rail with the main train station being known as The Hauptbahnhof.
