General Information about Munich
 The city of Munich or München is the third largest city in Germany. Munich which is famous for being the home of Oktoberfest dates back to 1158 and is the capital of Bavaria. One of the most popular tourist destinations in Munich is the beer hall known as the Hofbräuhaus. Even if you don't drink a visit to a beer hall is a must, food is served as well as non-alcoholic beverages.
The main square in Munich is known as the Marienplatz. It is here that you will find the oldest church in the city, Peterskirche or St. Peter's Church in English. There are also a number of beautiful parks in Munich with the Englischer Garten being one of the world's largest public gardens. There is an area in the park where there is continual surfing for expert surfers only. It is worth going to the park just to watch the surfers. Travelling to Munich is simple as the city boasts the second largest airport in Germany.
