Koblenz

General Information about Koblenz

Koblenz which has been inhabited since 1000 B.C can be found within the state of Rhineland-Palatinate just 127 kilometres away from Frankfurt. Koblenz is home to over 106,000 and is ideally located along the River Rhine. The River Rhine flows for over 1,320 kilometres and is one of Europe's largest rivers.

When visiting the city of Koblenz be sure to explore around the towns popular fortress known as Festung Ehrenbreitstein. Dating back to 1817 the Festung Ehrenbreistein features a memorial of the German Army. The Moselle River is another feature of Koblenz which is a tributary river of the River Rhine. It is around this area you will be able to visit the area known as Deutsches Eck. Deutsches Eck is the German Corner and offers some beautiful views of the two rivers. One of the city's most popular activities is exploring the Rhine River by boat. Going on a boat tour will allow you to see some of the Rivers hidden treasures.

Koblenz does not have its own airport but is within easy reach of many major city's by train. Travelling to Koblenz is simple with regular trains arriving from many destinations such as Cologne, Frankfurt and Mainz. It is also possible to travel to Koblenz via car or bus.
