Found in west Germany the city of Dusseldorf is thought to have been inhabited since 1135. Dusseldorf is closely neighboured by the city of Bonn at a distance of 71 kilometres while the city of Koblenz is located at a distance of 154 kilometres. Dusseldorf is in fact the largest city within the state of North Rhine-Westphalia with a population of over ten million residents. Dusseldorf is ideally located long the River Rhine and is of particular beauty during the evenings.

One of the most notable structures in Dussseldorf can be found along the River Rhine and is known as the Rheinturm Dusseldorf. The Rheinturm Dusseldorf is well known as being the city's tallest building and features a revolving restaurant that offers some of the finest views in the city.

If you are visiting Dusseldorf during the month of November then you will be in for a treat as this is when one of the city's most important events is held. Known locally as the Dusseldorf Karneval this festival has been an important event since approximately 1833.
