Bamberg which is listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO is famous for not being attacked by the World War II bombings. You will find the town of Bamberg along the Regnitz river within the region of Bavaria. Bamburg is closely neighboured by Nuremburg at a distance of approximately 62 kilometres with Wurzburg being located 97 kilometres away.

Bamberg which is home to more than seventy thousand residents is also well known for its local beer known as Rauchbier. There is plenty of historical buildings worth exploring through while you are visiting Bamburg such as the Michaelsberg Abbey which dates back to 1015. The Bamburg Cathedral is another popular attraction with the Bamberg Horseman statue being the most well known feature. The most common way of travelling to Bamburg is via rail with regular trains arriving from Munich and Berlin.
