Luton which is located within the region of East England just 34 miles away from London. Luton is home to over 202,500 residents and is just 12 miles away from Hemel Hempstead and 19 miles away from Bedford within the county of Bedfordshire. Luton is ideally located along the River Lea which is 42 miles and eventually meets up with the River Thames.
Set along the River Lea is the ever popular Wardown Park which is a popular family destination. One of the most well known features of the park is the pedestrian suspension bridge that crosses the River Lea. Wardown Park is home to many species of animals but also is where you will find the town's Luton Museum and Art Gallery which is home to many interesting exhibitions but mainly arts and crafts. The Luton Museum and Art Gallery is housed in a historical farmhouse and country residence that features architecture from Victorian times.
One of Luton's most well known events is the Luton Carnival which attracts over 150,000 visitors each year. Held in May the Luton Carnival is widely known as being Britain's largest one day festival.
Luton is well connected with the rest of England and in fact is an important gateway into London with the London Luton Airport. Train is another popular way of travelling to Luton with many trains travelling from many directions such as London, Sheffield, Lincoln and Bedford.
