Set within South West England is the county of Gloucestershire which consists of seven main districts. Gloucestershire is located 28 miles away from Swindon, 38 miles away from Bristol and a distance of 50 miles away from Bath. Gloucester is the main city of the county and is home to over 123,000 residents. The other districts of Gloucestershire are South Gloucestershire, Stroud, Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, and Cotswold.

The county of Gloucestershire boasts many interesting sights worth visiting and if you are visiting the city of Gloucester be sure to explore through the historical Gloucester Cathedral. This remarkable piece of architecture dates back to 678. The cathedral that stands today was rebuilt back in 1072 and mainly features architecture of Gothic type influences.

If you enjoy exploring through castles then a trip to the ever popular Berkeley Castle which was built in 1117 A.D should definitely be on your list of things to see. The Berkeley Castle found in the town of the same name has always belonged to the Berkeley family.

Found within the village of Owlpen which is approximately 13 miles away from Gloucester is the Owlpen Manor. Listed as a Grade 1 listed buildin the Owlpen Manor dates back to 1450 and is one of the most charming and romantic manor houses in the country.
