Exeter which was originally a Roman city back in 50 A.D is located within South West England within the county of Devon. Exeter is ideally located along the River Exe and is overlooked by the Dartmoor National Park. Located 79 miles away from Exeter is Bristol and Cornwall. Home to over 111,000 residents Exeter attracts many visitors each year and is well known as being the home to the world's narrowest street.

The Exeter Cathedral is one of the town's most visited attractions and features some spectacular displays of Gothic architecture. The original building was built back in 1050, while the building that stands today was built in 1400. The Rougemont Castle is of particular interest which is not actually open to the public, but is one of the main features of the town. The nearby garden of Northernhay Gardens should definitely be on your list of places to visit which has been a feature of the town since 1612.

Exeter is well connected with the rest of England with regular flights landing at the Exeter International Airport which is located just six miles away from the city centre. You can also travel to Exeter via bus, car or rail with many trains arriving from Bristol, London, Scotland, Midlands and Northern England.
