AylesburyGeneral Information about AylesburyAylesbury is situated in the south east of England in the United Kingdom and is the county town of Buckinghamshire. The town lies on an outcrop of Partlandian limestone and dates back to the Iron Age, around 650BC. Aylesbury was a major market town in Anglo-Saxon times, then played a vital role in the English Civil War in the mid 1600's as a stronghold for the Parliamentarian forces. Today the town is home to more than 65,000 people and is part of the London Commuter Belt.

Ajoined to the Buckinghamshire County Museum is the Roald Dahl Children's Gallery which is located in the former coach house of Ceely House. The museum uses characters from Roald Dahl's world famous books to inspire and teach young people about science, literature and history. The Roald Dahl Children's Gallery was opened in 1996 by Terence Hardiman, star of popular children's television series The Demon Headmaster.
