General Information about Ringsted

Set within central Zealand which is also known as Sjælland and just under an hour away from Copenhagen is the city of Ringsted. Home to approximately 20,000 residents the historical town of Ringsted is well known as being the burial site of the Kings of Denmark up until 1341.

If you are visiting Ringsted a trip to the Saint Benedict Church should not be missed. Also known as Skt. Bendts Kirke, this historical monument was originally built back in the 12th century and boast Gothic like architecture.

If you are travelling with children then a day at Fantasy World should definitely be on your list of places to visit. Here you will be treated to a visit from Santa's elves and reindeer's at Santa's World. But you will also be able to view a large variety of your favourite fairytale characters.

Another popular site worth visiting is Ringsted's round church known as Bjernede. This remarkable structure was built back in 1150 and is the only round church in all of Zealand.
