General Information about Ribe

Located over three hours away from Copenhagen is Denmark's town of Ribe which has been inhabited since the 8th century. Found within Jutland which is the western end of Denmark, Ribe is home to over eight thousand residents and offers something for everybody.

Because Ribe is Denmark's oldest town there are a wide variety of museums, cathedrals and historical monuments to be seen. The Ribe Cathedral is one such landmark not to be missed. Dating back to 860 and boasting six bells in total. But if you prefer to explore through musums then the Ribe Kunstmuseum is not one to be missed which dates back to 1891.

If you are lucky enough to be visiting Ribe between May and September be sure to ask the locals about The Night Watchman in Ribe. The Night Watchman walks around the city telling people that bedtime is near.

The best way to get to Ribe is via rail with regular trains arriving at the city's train station within the city centre.
