First inhabited by the Vikings, the city of Randers can be found along the peninsula of Jutland just under an hour away from Silkeborg and over three hours away from Copenhagen. Randers is home to over 56,000 residents and is the perfect city for exploring through both historical buildings and outdoor activities.

Be sure to find the time to visit the Clausholm Manor which dates back to 1699 and boasts architecture from the Baroque period. If you are visiting at the right time you may be able to enjoy one of the rare concerts heard at the Manor. Another popular destination worth visiting is the Gammel Estrup Manor House which has been a feature of Randers since 1500 and is today used as an Historical Museum.

The Randers Rainforest is another popular attraction worth visiting and is fact the largest artificial rainforest in Northern Europe. If you happen to be visiting Randers during August you will be able to take part in the festivities of the annual Festival of Kites.
