Home to over 35,000 residents, Helsingor has been inhabited since 70 B.C but was not founded as a city until 1420. Helsingor was made famous by Shakespeare in Hamlet.
While you are visiting Helsingor a trip to the nearby Kronborg Castle should not be missed. Listed as a World Heritage Site, the Kronborg Castle dates back to 1420 and is located at the tip of Zealand. Another interesting place to visit is the Municipal Museum which features a miniature version of what Helsingor used look like back in 1801. Helsingor's Town Hall which is another popular place where you will be able to see some of the city's old homes.
