The architecture of Aarhus is a beautiful mix of 17th and 18th century buildings mixed in wonderfully with a variety of modern buildings. Be sure to visit the Aarhus Cathedral with its wide range of frescoe paintings from as far back as 1470. The altar of the cathedral is particularly awe inspiring with its five movable sections that gives you the opportunity to view different scenes. It is definitely well worth visiting this historical monument with its multitudes of history and importance.
Aarhus is home to a variety of museums and is home to one of Denmarks largest which is known as Aros Aarhus Kunstmuseum. For shopping and dinning out, the Old Town is a must where you go back in time and shop amongst a collection of Danish homes from as far back as 1597.
