Aalborg

General Information about Aalborg

First inhabited back in 700 A.D and is set along the south bank of the Limfjord seaway and features many fascinating buildings worth exploring through. Aalborg is home to over 121,000 residents making it Denmark's fourth largest city. The architecture of Aalborg dates back to the 14th century with the Budolfi Church being a excellent example of this.

While you are visiting Aalborg be sure to visit the mansion known as Jens Bangs Stenhus. Constructed with sandstone ornamentation back in 1624 and featuring architecture from the Renaissance period, the Jens Bangs Stenhus is one of Aalborg's most visited monuments.

If you are planning on visiting Aaborg in May you will be in for a treat as this is when the Aalborg Festival takes place. If fact that it is so popular that it is considered as the largest festival in North Europe.
