Zadar

General Information about Zadar

Featuring some spectacular views from the Adriatic coastline is the city of Zadar which has been inhabited since pre-historic times. Neighboured by the island of Ugljan and Bibinie, Zadar is home to over 70,000 residents making it the fifth most populated city in the nation.

This historical city whose architecture dates back to Roman times boasts many fascinating sights that should not be missed. If you enjoy exploring through historical churches then Zadar will not disappoint and the Cathedral of Saint Anastasia should be one of the first that you visit. Dating back to the 12th century, the Cathedral of Saint Anastasia is the largest church in the city and Dalmatia. Zadar is also home to numerous museums and art galleries such as the National Museum, the Permanent Exhibition of Sacral Art.

You can get to Zadar through a variety of means of transportation with buses being the most popular, followed by trains and planes. There are also ferries connecting Zadar with the surrounding islands.
