Ciovo

General Information about Ciovo

Set within the Adriatic Sea and sheltered by the island of Brac is Ciovo which is a small island near the city of Trogir. Belonging to the county of Split-Dalmatia, Ciovo is home to over six thousand residents and has been inhabited since the Middle Ages.

Ciovo enjoys Mediterranean like conditions and boasts architecture of pre-Romanesque and Medieval like influences. The Church of Saint Peter is just one example of pre-Romanesque architecture. If you enjoy exploring through historical treasures then a trip to the Dominican monastery known as the Holy Cross should not be missed which was built in the 15th century.

Access to the island is simple with the main gateway being through a bridge from the nearby town of Trogir.
