General Information about Russe

Pleasantly located along the Danube River in North Eastern Bulgaria is the city of Russe which is also known as Rousse and Ruse. Home to over 176,000 residents, Russe is in fact Bulgaria's fifth most populated city. This historical city has been inhabited since the Middle Ages and is home to many beautiful buildings with strong Neo-Rococo and Neo-Baroque architecture.

If you love visiting museums then the Russe Regional Historical Museum is a must see with over 140,000 artefacts set within the Battenberg Palace. One of the most important monuments in Russe is the Pantheon of National Revival Heroes which is the burial site of 39 famous Bulgarians.

This fascinating city attracts many visitors each year with the Russe TV Tower being just one of the city's highlights. This tower is one of the tallest structures in Bulgaria and boasts some spectacular views of the city as well as a restaurant.
