General Information about Liege

First mentioned back in 558, Liege is a city within the region of Wallonia and the Liege Province and is nestled within the Meuse river. Located approximately one hour away from Brussels and is thought to be Belgium's third largest populated city.

Visiting the Historic Centre of Belgium is a great place to start your sightseeing with numerous attractions, and museums. The Curtius Palace is of particular interest with its eight story's while a trip to the La Violette or simply the Town Hall should not be missed with its breathtaking architecture.

Liege is home to many fascinating sights and historical monuments with one of the most well known being the Montagne de Bueren which consists of four hundred steps. You will find the Montagne de Bueren within the Hors-Château area.

Getting to Liege is easy as the city is well connected with a variety of major cities with regular trains arriving from Brussels, Paris and Leuven.
