General Information about Genk
Ideally set along the Albert Cana, within the province of Limburg and Flemish Region is the city of Genk. Genk has been inhabited since 1108 and is home to over 64,000 residents with the official language being Dutch. Genk is located just under an hour away from Brussels and Antwerp.
While you are visiting Genk be sure to visit the Europlanetarium Genk which is a planetarium and people's observatory. Also worth visiting is the open air museum known as Bokrijk which is a provincial domain. Here you will be able to wander through the beautiful botanical gardens as well as a variety of historical buildings.
