You will find Aalst located just half an hour away from Brussels within East Flanders. Aalst is home to over 78,000 residents and has been inhabited since the 9th century. Ideally located along the Dender River, Aalst boasts an array of Gothic architecture that should not be forgotten about.

Aalst town hall is of particular interest dating back to the 12th century and is in fact Belgium's oldest hall. Be sure to visit the fascinating Aldermen's House which has been listed as a World Heritage Site and was built in 1460 boasting 52 bells.
